You want to employ someone who is a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country who will be working here as an artist.
Artists include, for example, singers, musicians, dancers, circus artists, actors, directors and filmmakers, but also the artist’s technicians and other tour staff that accompany them to Sweden.
Certain people or categories of artists do not need to apply for a work permit to work in Sweden. This applies, for example, to artists who have been invited by an established arranger to work for a brief period, or artists who have their own business outside Sweden and are to perform assignments here within the framework of their business abroad.
Certain people are exempt from the work permit requirement
Register your interest in becoming an established arranger
Keep in mind that even if the employee does not need to apply for a work permit, they may need to apply for an entry visa to travel to Sweden.
As an employer, you start the work permit application for the person you want to employ. You do this by providing information about the employment to the Swedish Migration Agency via our e-service. When you are finished, the employee receives a link to the e-service, where they fill in their information, submit and thus complete the application. Only then is the application registered with the Swedish Migration Agency.
