Due to Northvolt’s bankruptcy, the Swedish Migration Agency will be on site in Skellefteå to answer your questions about residence and work permits.

A large number of people with work permits based on their employment at Northvolt are affected by the company’s bankruptcy. For this reason, the local premises of the Swedish Migration Agency will be open for drop-ins on certain days, so that we can answer questions about your case or permit, or general questions about residence permits in Sweden.

Employment is the basis for your work permit

Your employment is the basis for your work and residence permit in Sweden. As long as you are still employed, your permit is valid. If you are dismissed, you have three months to find a new job.

If something changes when you have a permit to work in Sweden
