Changes for those residing in Cyprus who wish to apply for residence and work permit

From 17 March 2025 the Swedish embassy in Nicosia will no longer handle migration matters. If you are a citizen of Cyprus, you should instead contact the Swedish embassy in Athens, Greece. The same applies for non-Cypriot legal residents of Cyprus.

This means that you will have to visit the embassy in Athens in person for an interview, a passport control or to leave biometric data. To book an appointment or to contact the embassy you can find contact information on swedenabroad.se External link.

If you have already submitted an application at the embassy in Nicosia, and for example have a booked interview or is waiting for your residence permit card, you will still be able to conclude your application there after 17 March.
