Residents of Serbia or Montenegro shall submit applications for Schengen visas through VFS Global in Belgrade from 9 January

The Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade will not handle applications for Schengen visas after 9 January 2025. If you are a resident of Serbia or Montenegro and want to apply for a Schengen visa you must instead submit your application at the visa application centre of the external service provider VFS Global in Belgrade.

VFS Global will send your application and passport to the Swedish Embassy in Skopje, North Macedonia, that will make a decision. The passport and decision will then be returned to VFS Global in Belgrade, where you can collect them.

You will, on top of the ordinary visa fee, be obliged to pay a service fee equivalent to 80 Euro to VFS Global. The cost of transporting the application, passport, and decision is included in the service fee.

It will be possible, through the website of VFS Global External link, opens in new window., to book an appointment to submit an application at the visa application centre from 9 January.

The Embassy in Belgrade will not be able to answer questions about Schengen visas after 9 January. You can then instead direct your questions to the call centre of VFS Global.
