EU and international
The Swedish Migration Agency is commissioned to work to deepen the European and international cooperation and assists the Government in EU matters as well as in international development cooperation.
The Swedish Migration Agency works with EU issues in a number of different ways, for example through negotiation work, in the implementation of legislation, through EU-funded projects (in and outside Sweden) and through the EU agencies and various cooperation networks.
In practice, the Swedish Migration Agency works with EU issues by assisting the Ministry of Justice in various EU working groups. These are, for example, the European Union Council Working Groups, the Commission's Implementation Committees and Expert Groups, as well as other working groups within the EU, for example under the EU agencies.
In addition to the work of council working groups and implementation committees, the Swedish Migration Agency also has several contact points in various EU networks as well as experts and project managers in EU-funded projects.
